This workshop will explore ways that Secondary School teachers can support students through building and sustaining empathic relationships. Research suggests that how teachers and students interact and the relationships between students and teachers, especially during the critical period of middle and high school, can have a long-lasting effect on students’ motivation, behavior in class, their attitudes toward school, and success beyond the classroom.
